Whoa. Kinda weird.

Okay, so today i was checking out Cracked.com (one of my favorite list sites), and i saw the list "9 Real Life Mad Scientists" and thought i'd check it out. There were some cool ones, until i came across Sergei S. Bryukhonenko. He apparently wanted to see how long life could be sustained through artificial means, and actually invented the Soviet Union's first heart-lung machine. But anyway, back to the weirdness. Apparently he cut off a dog's head, attached artifical arteries and veins to it, and proceeded to send oxygenated blood through the dog's head. That was cut off. From its body.

The freaky part is that the dog actually came to some sort of life. It responded to light, sound, and taste (it even took a treat from one of the scientists). I really didn't believe it until i saw the video.

WARNING: THIS VIDEO IS REALLY CREEPY AND IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE A CUT OFF DOG'S HEAD I SUGGEST YOU NOT WATCH IT. But it's really kind of cool so I suggest you watch it anyway :)

And if you don't want to watch the video, here is a picture of just the dog's head.

weird, huh? The rest of the list is pretty interesting too, you should check it out. My other favorite is the guy who hooked up electrodes to a bull and stopped it mid-charge. He also did the same thing to a cat and activated its pissed-off button.

I will say that I don't agree with any of the above mentioned, and that it was performed a long time ago. I did still think it was pretty cool and thought i'd share it. :)

That is soooo creepy! Oh my gosh! It's probably because the ladies run from men with names like Bryukhonenko... Who would want to voluntarily take on a name like that?
